Success isn't a result of spontaneous combustion.
You must set yourself on fire.
~Arnold H. Glasow

Motivation is the subject for today.
There is something in your life that you continue to do over and over.
Is it:
Simply getting out of bed in the morning?
Eating Healthy?
Exercising?
Doing your Hair?
Cleaning your home?
Driving to work?
Nursing that baby?
Writing in your journal?
Reading a good book?
Volunteering?
Teaching someone something new?
Learning something new?

Where does your drive come from to carry on?

Today...think about something that is a challenge in your life...but you do it and over and over and are glad you do.
Write about why you do it and how you feel when you have completed the task?

The rules of soccer are very simple,
basically it is this:
if it moves, kick it.
If it doesn't move, kick it until it does.
~Phil Woosnam, 1974

It's begun and Four of the Five kids have started soccer. It's so much fun to watch them learn and become better in their skills. Some have scored once, some have scored twice and some have never scored...but just love to kick the ball.
Here are a few things to write about...even if you don't do soccer.

Do you play?
Do you want to play?
       if no..why?
Do you watch?
       if no..why?

Do you cheer?
Do you scream?
Do you want to scream?
Do you coach?
Do you understand the rules?
Do you want to scream because of the rules?

Delicious autumn!
My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.
~George Eliot

Sept. 23rd is the Fall Equinox...it's still 100 degrees here at my house.
However, there is one tree on the other side of the wall that is trying ever so hard to turn yellow. It's an Arizona Ash and it's working hard to find fall. The trees around it are green as every....can it find the strength to pull fall into Arizona for all of us to enjoy?  I sure hope so...I love to see change in nature!

Write if you see fall in your area and if so...where and what does it look like.

This is my birthday month and I love having a birthday. It's always so exciting to catalogue all that you have learned over the past year and then the waiting game of what you will learn over the next 365 days.
I use to be scared of getting older...now...it's just a part of life that I love.

This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.
~Elmer Davis

I often wonder where courage comes from, especially those that sign up to fight for our freedoms.

Is that a courage that comes from your father, mother, grandparent through the gene pool?
Is that a courage that you are expected to have because those before you fought in the military..therefore you will as well?
Is that a courage that comes from seeing someone in pain, therefore you are determined to fight for them?

Write about someone in your family or someone you know that has signed up to fight for our Freedoms!

A father carries pictures where his money used to be.

I remember my father buying me a beautiful Lladro statue from Spain while he and my mother were there for a LDS Mission. They both picked them out for all of us girls...specific to what they saw us as.

I love my little dancing beauty and have her on a very high shelf safe from my little grommets. It's a purchase that I know they really couldn't afford..but they did it with not a second thought.

Write about a gift you might of recieved (store bought or made) from your father that means something to you.

Earth laughs in flowers.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

I never thought of this before...but it seems to be true.
The earth shows it's humor though nature and I can see the Earth laughing through flowers.

This Weeks task is to think back on a time you saw nature expressing it's emotions through color or lack of color and then WRITE ABOUT IT!

Spring Flowers
Summer Blossoms
Fall Leaves turning colors
Winters Barren Trees

-Napping under the Sun-

I remember when I was younger coming home from Church in the Spring and having the outside be slightly cool and our home nice and warm.
I would park my body on the floor right in front of the back door of our home. The door was a glass door and so it would let in a door full of light across the carpet. Enough light to keep warm and not too much to make you sweat. I loved reading the Sunday comics laying on my belly on the floor and then taking a nice Sunday nap.

Write your thoughts or memories on this subject!

Better yet..challenge your child, friend or sibling to a skipping race.

You know you've read a good book when you turn the last page and feel a little as if you have lost a friend.
~Paul Sweeney

Books...I am a lover of a good book.
I have been overwhelmed in good books lately. ON this post, why don't you make a list of the last 5 books that you have read OR the top 5 books on your wish list.
For Christmas this past year, my lover gave me an e-reader and it's occupied my time, wisely!
I am loving it. I carry it around with me everywhere. It's just like the quote says, when I have it with me, it's like my friend is always there. strange huh?
Well...here are my past 5 books read:

The Hunger Games Trilogy
The Help
Sisters of the Quilt Trilogy
Lost Symbol
Ford County

Here are a few I am currently reading:
The five Languages of Love
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
The UltraMarathon Man

And 5 on my wish list:
A Reliable Wife
Sherlock Holmes, volume 1
These is my words
Maze Runner

I think a photography class should be a requirement in all educational programs because it makes you see the world rather than just look at it.
~Author Unknown

Today...go through your photos and post a photo that says more that it looks. What I mean is....
Post a photo that you wish so badly you  could of had the viewer see the feeling that was going on in that moment. Sometimes pictures can't express the emotions that are taking place...sometimes they can. Find that one photo that you want to the world to understand more than meets thee eye.

here is mine.  it's a bad photo but means so much to me! I can't tell you how my heart feels when its in this spot of the world...especially with my mom, my babies and people I love.
I was just missing my lover!

Music's the medicine of the mind.
~John A. Logan

To go along with my Jan 1st post...I was thinking about one of my resolutions for this year. And one of them has to do with listening to music.
Okay, it has to do with running and staying fit....but while doing it....I get to listen to whatever music I want and as loud as I can handle it.
SO...for this weeks post.

What's on your playlist?

December 15th

It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air.
 ~W.T. Ellis

December is the month that we all think, more often, of our Savior. He surrounds us in the stores, in the light displays, in our comments, in our activities and just in the air.

December is the month that we all think, more often, of our family. They surround us in our homes, at our Christmas parties, in our activities and just everywhere.

Tis the season....

This month I would like for you to write any experience you can remember of your family and a nativity.
-Did you make one?
-Did you perform in one?
-Did you see one you loved and it touch your heart?
-Did you built the stable or manager?
-Did you get an heirloom from your mother and it's your most prize possession?

Winter came down to our home one night
Quietly pirouetting in on silvery-toed slippers of snow,
And we, we were children once again.
~Bill Morgan, Jr

When was the last time you played in the snow? Not just walked in the snow, but actually played?

Write about it.
